A.Q. J DEGREE COLLEGE was started in 1996-97 under MAQBOOL HUSSAIN EDUCATIONAL WELFARE SOCIETY as the first MUSLIM MINORITY institution of North coastal Andhra Pradesh with B.Sc (Maths, Physics and Comp. Science), (Maths, Stats, Comp. Appl.) and B.Com. A new combination in B.Sc.(Maths, Stats, Computer Science) was introduced during the year 1997-1998. In the year 2000-2001 new courses like B.Sc (Maths, Electronics, Computer Science), B.Sc.(Biotech, Microbiology, Biochem.) B.Com (Computers), were introduced. Other courses such as B.Sc (Maths, Phy, Elec) (Maths, Phy, Chem), (Biotech, Biochem, Chem) were started subsequently.

               During the year 2005-2006, the society started AQJ PG COLLEGE, offering M.Sc Microbiology Course with Affiliation from Andhra University. In the next academic years 2006 – 2007, 2007 – 2008, 2008 – 2009 M.Sc- Bio-Chemistry, M.Sc Organic Chemistry and M.Sc Analytical Chemistry were added.

            The Physical and academic infrastructure including the sophisticated computer lab, fully equipped library, huge play ground and sophisticated seminar hall are reputed to be one of the best in the city.. Experienced faculty and  other amenities are outstanding in Andhra University region. In this short span, our institutions have built up a formidable reputation for discipline and our standard of education remains unparalleled.
